A mystery solved, and a laugh

Yes, Hidden City decided to revert to April of 2008 again last night. Fortunately, I have at long last determined the cause. When someone comments of a Volume 3 post (this is technically Hidden City Volume four, the quaternary incarnation since its launch eleven years ago), then Blogger sees fit to perform an unrequested republication of the final post of the previous generation. Hence this post, to get us back on track and to explain who those who may have been curious.

But we shall be kicking off volume five shortly, barring any additional anomalies in my health and the crick don’t rise, perhaps rendering this a moot point. I’m afraid that at long last I may have to give up Blogger; I suspect Google/Blogger no longer have any interest in people using non-Blogspot hosting, as more and more of their services require you to host with them. And by jiminey, I’ve been using Blogger since it was a free beta service owned by a passel of kids with a start-up called Pyra! But the times change, and you damned kids will always find new ways to get on my yard.

I think this strip from xkcd can lay to rest the Apple-zealot bashing going around this place. Although I still believe that when the impending zombie apocalypse comes, it will be traced to an infected pair of cheap white earbuds made somewhere in rural China. But perhaps I’ve said too much….
