Thirty years ago I graduated from South Plantation High School. In spite of never having attended a reunion so far, and having no anticipation of seeing anyone I knew in more than a pass-in-the-hall manner, I’ve decided to attend this one. I suppose one of my few traits unchanged for thirty years is my curiosity, and it must be satisfied. (At least the party is local.) Besides, it will give me something to talk about, as if I needed an excuse to bang a keyboard.

So as a teaser for what will likely be a week of banal introspection, please enjoy mocking these two photos. Above is a yearbook photo from my senior year, with a back story to be told soon. The second is from the corporate awards show I co-produced a few weeks back, which will also be discussed, although probably not this week.

And if through some miracle you are one of my classmates who has found me through the organizing site, say hello. I’m not planning on making any connections of an intimate nature at the reunion (unlike some friends of mine at their own galas), and I’d rather not hang out and drink alone all night. I can do that in Miami.

You’re lucky you have a well-shaped head. Not a lot of guys can pull that look off.
