The photo is a little blurry, but it was the best I could manage. When we saw this work of art I knew I had to turn around and go back and capture the moment. Believe it or not, the beak opens and closes, and the eyes roll around. This astounds me — it is one thing to build a chicken joint in the shape of a hen back in the ’60s, but to keep it functional and animated for so long is another thing entirely.

Hmmm, I wonder how much it would take to convince them to let me buy it and turn it into the center of my worship. Or a marital aid store. Or a man-whore palace. The possbilities are endless, really. Well, not endless so much as utterly perverted.
I love it.
bizarre!
(you’d never get a building permission for a place like that here in germany. never!)
As they say, finger lickin’ good!
there’s alot of 60s places like that in atlanta. that’s why i like it there…
you need to post this on flickr and put it in the wicked servant group.
that is all.
This is highly disturbing.
Oh! So THAT’S what KFC stands for… I think we should start a National Tacky Food Establishment Preservation Society. This one belongs on the register.
I believe it was around the early 90′s when Kentucky Fried Chicken changed their name to KFC, supposedly for two reasons: people were becoming more health conscious (less fried food) and they wanted to appeal to a younger crowd. I suppose that’s also why Burger King sometimes uses “BK” in their commercials and International House of Pancakes became IHOP. Ya’ know, it’s amazing how something like the first comment Chuck made can make you feel a bit old… even when you’re younger than he is!
